# Autark > Autark is a free desktop app that gives one person their own AI company: a manager, specialist agents and a private secretary that work proactively — they wake up on schedules, messages, tasks and events instead of waiting for a prompt. It runs on the user's own computer and uses the AI plans the user already pays for (ChatGPT plans through OpenAI Codex, paid Claude plans through Claude Code). Agents have full access to the PC: there is no permission gate, guardian model or money limit, and text steers them. Settings, skills and memory are open files the AI can change itself. An Android app and an iPhone web app join the same company. Made by Teydra Lab (Salzburg, Austria). Formerly called "Proactive Agent Workforce". Key facts: - Current version: 0.3.3 for Windows, macOS and Linux (released 2026-11-07). Windows x64 installer, about 132 MB, not code-signed. macOS universal DMG or ZIP, about 272 MB, signed ad hoc and not notarized, so it needs manual steps to open. Linux x64 AppImage, about 158 MB. - Phone: Android app 0.3.3 (APK, about 4 MB, Android 8+, installed from outside the Play Store); it connects to the user's company by the PC's Remote ID in any network. iPhone: no App Store app; the web app at https://autark-theta.vercel.app/app/ (Safari, Add to Home Screen, iOS 17+) pairs by the PC's Remote ID the same way, reaches the user's PC through the meeting server end-to-end encrypted, and shows the PC's own interface. Agents cannot use other iPhone apps: iOS allows that to no app. - Price: free download, no account, no subscription from Teydra Lab. AI usage is billed by the user's own AI providers. - Data: local-first. Chats, tasks, memory, agents and the secrets catalog live on the user's PC. No Autark server holds user data; one meeting server run by Teydra Lab helps the user's devices find each other and passes only end-to-end encrypted traffic. Prompts go to the AI providers the user connects. - Access: agents run with the user's rights, without a sandbox and without approval prompts. The first thing the AI asks is how far it may go; that is a question, not a technical barrier. Details: https://openautark.com/access/ - Secrets are used by ID (secret://...); values stay out of prompts and known values are masked in output. - Provider sign-in only through the official CLIs; the Autark app does not read, copy or forward provider tokens. An agent with full access could still open those folders. - Status labels on this site: "Available" = in the current public release; "Next release" = built in development, not released yet; "Planned" = not built. - Source code: public under Apache-2.0 at https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark. Autark is open source. ## Pages - [Overview](https://openautark.com/): what Autark is, downloads for every device, the problem, how it works, the open system, access. - [All capabilities](https://openautark.com/product/): every feature with its honest status. - [How it works](https://openautark.com/how-it-works/): the short start, the organisation, wake-ups, engines, open files, browser, memory, data. - [Access and data](https://openautark.com/access/): full access to the PC, the first question, secrets by ID, data and backups, unsigned builds with the Windows and Mac steps, what is not proven yet. - [Compare](https://openautark.com/compare/): Autark vs. chat apps, automation tools, agent frameworks and similar agent products. - [FAQ](https://openautark.com/faq/): 24 answered questions. - [Download](https://openautark.com/download/): every platform, PC first, then phone; requirements, checksums, permanent links. - [Autark for Windows](https://openautark.com/download/windows/): Windows 10/11 · x64 installer; the download and the install steps. - [Autark for macOS](https://openautark.com/download/mac/): Universal · Apple silicon + Intel · DMG; the download and the install steps. - [Autark for Linux](https://openautark.com/download/linux/): x64 · AppImage; the download and the install steps. - [Autark for Android](https://openautark.com/download/android/): Android 8 or newer · APK; the download and the install steps. - [Autark for iPhone](https://openautark.com/download/iphone/): Web app · Home Screen · iOS 17 or newer; how to set it up from the PC. - [Changelog](https://openautark.com/changelog/): every public release. - [About](https://openautark.com/about/): Teydra Lab, Stanislaus Hees, why it exists. - [Full facts for AI readers](https://openautark.com/llms-full.txt) · [Machine-readable facts](https://openautark.com/facts.json) ## Downloads (always the newest file) - Windows: https://openautark.com/get/windows → https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases/latest/download/autark-windows-x64.exe - macOS: https://openautark.com/get/mac → https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases/latest/download/autark-mac-universal.dmg - Linux: https://openautark.com/get/linux → https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases/latest/download/autark-linux-x64.AppImage - Android: https://openautark.com/get/android → https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases/latest/download/autark-android.apk - macOS (ZIP): https://openautark.com/get/mac-zip → https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases/latest/download/autark-mac-universal.zip - Checksums: https://openautark.com/get/checksums → https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases/latest/download/SHA256SUMS.txt - All releases: https://github.com/teydra/OpenAutark/releases ## Maker - Teydra Lab: https://teydralab.com/ - Stanislaus Hees (founder): https://stanislaushees.com/ - Imprint: https://teydralab.com/impressum · Privacy: https://teydralab.com/privacy-policy
